Help the Carolina Girls go to Nationals!

The Project

Each April, the Carolina Girls Dance Team travels to Daytona Beach, Florida to compete against some of the nation's top dance teams at the National Dance Alliance's Collegiate Championship. The team relies on the support of annual sponsors to finance expenses for this event. Our goal is to raise $13,000 through contributions, both large and small, to assist in financing the team’s trip.

Who We Are

If you’ve attended a South Carolina home football or basketball game, you’ve likely seen the Carolina Girls Dance Team performing on the sidelines of Williams-Brice Stadium or during timeouts at Colonial Life Arena. What you may not realize is that these dancers have spent most of their lives training and performing on stages all over the country with various competitive dance programs. Each dancer chose to audition for the dance team at the University of South Carolina, not only to support Gamecock Athletics, but also to continue their passion and be part of a competitive team.

This season’s trip will be the Carolina Girls’ 13th trip to Daytona Beach for NDA College Nationals. Representing the University of South Carolina on this national stage is a great honor and the Carolina Girls are proud to have placed in the top five for the last ten seasons. The team most recently placed 2nd in Division 1A Team Performance and 3rd in Division 1A Jazz at the 2019 Championship.

The Impact

The members of the Carolina Girls Dance Team are all ambassadors of the University of South Carolina and the Department of Athletics. They represent the spirit and pride of our University and they excel in the classroom, as well as performance. Having the opportunity to bring national recognition to South Carolina through this competition brings another layer of excellence not only to the Carolina Girls program, but to the institution as a whole. This year's team is full of incredible talent and has a great opportunity to be successful at the 2020 championship this April!

Each contribution made to this campaign will go directly toward funding various competition-related expenses, including registration fees, lodging, transportation, meals, choreography, music and costumes.
