The University of South Carolina School of Medicine White Coat Ceremony celebrates an important milestone in the lives of our first-year medical students. This significant ceremony serves to welcome each new class of students and provides a powerful emphasis on compassion in combination with clinical excellence. During the ceremony, students pledge their commitment to medicine and to the health of the patients they will serve, and receive their white coats as a symbol of their entry into the profession.
