The COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges for the community and our great university. Despite these challenges, it remains our mission to provide a championship-level experience for our more than 500 student-athletes. Together, we will make it through this adversity.
It is projected that the pandemic could lead to revenue losses of ticket sales and donations alone could total over $50,000,000. Potential losses in sponsorships, licensing agreements, and TV money are likely to increase this number significantly. To date, the Athletics Department has cut all budgets by 15%, launched furloughs, implemented a hiring freeze and announced pay cuts. To emerge from this pandemic stronger than ever, we are asking you, our Gamecock Family, to join us in doing all we can to fortify our ability to support our student-athletes.
